All names listed in the book are Filipino, Filipino-American artists living in the United States.
I have to pack up this piece for a show in Washington DC at WAS Gallery in May 2017. I will be showing some work along with other talented Filipino-American artists through Fil-Am Artists Directory.
Most of my work are from repurposed materials I've found or bought. This particular material made me worry so much because I didn't know what it was made out of. I suspected it might be asbestos rope and I didn't want to be involved with since it's a carcinogen. With much research and a couple of helpful friends, I figured out that it's a form of cotton. I couldn't be any happier since I was very reluctant to throw it away.
Currently working on this. Working on a found and raw materials that can be repurposed.
Brain in is currently blasting out ideas:
*is it a painting?*
*hung on wall?*
*resting on wall while on the ground?*
*painting it all white? Possibly gesso?*
*must hide raw materials? Make audience wonder?*
